Block sites on your pc or limit the time browsing Facebook, YouTube or other

lock-websites

There are two cases in which one might want to stop browsing some websites .
The first is an office manager who does not want employees to lose time at work going to play online, buy on Ebay or watch Youtube video.

Second case is that of a parent who wants to just leave the child surfing the internet that will not happen by chance or curiosity, sites for minors.

There are several solutions, some more elaborate, more immediate and easier, allowing you to block certain sites on your PC or to limit the navigation time on sites that do spend time at home or at work.

To block dangerous sites on a Windows or Mac , the best program you can find is K9 Web Protection .
This is a program free of charge which can be downloaded after registering with an existing email address which is used to receive the serial number.
With K9 Web Protection can block sites is dangerous, with viruses, with pornography or violent content, and limit the shipping time allowed in specific times and days ( Time Restrictions ).
In this way you can configure your computer to use Facebook and YouTube do not open during working hours or to require that some sites can be visited only on weekends.
The difficulty in configuring the protection and the blocks is related to the fact that the program is in English only and as when we speak of rights on the PC, there is always confusing, problems could arise.
Of course, nothing prevents you to test configuration that can always be changed at any time.
The program can be password protected, it can show the entire business done on the internet, all sites visited and time spent on specific pages .
You can also block keywords in searches on the Internet ( URL Keywords ) and set exceptions.
One thing you may not like is that you can create different profiles and then, any blockage or restriction also applies to the administrator.
The nice thing however is the section to block Web Categories where, by setting to " Custom ", you can choose which categories of Web sites should be blocked on your computer.
In this way everything gets updated automatically with an internet filter, taken directly from the server BlueCoat, the House sowftware developing K9.

If K9 is too big for your needs and you would only need a simple and immediate tool to block some specific web sites , you can instead download and install AnyWebLock .
On AnyWebLock enough to indicate the addresses to be blocked and you can also specify sub-domains (for example, restrict only certain sites blogspot.com).
Installing Anyweblock is fast and easy and provides a password to protect program settings.

The third article of this software is Internet Security Controller specialized to limit the time users spend on Web sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube and so on. on a specific computer (for example, employees in an office or children at home).
This too is protected by a password that needs to know only the administrator, parent or leader.
A little 'how does K9, but with a simpler interface, this tool allows you to configure options regarding the precise day, date and time in which to block access to sites that are wasting time.
Many social networking sites have already added by default, but you can add new ones from the text box at the top or remove them by removing the block.
For each site you can set a daily limit of time allowed during one day, without forcing the then surf times.
This control is useful for parents to prevent their children to spend whole days playing online or to manage the work breaks without drags on for a long time.
Internet Security Control is very easy to use, can be a good alternative for small businesses with few computers that do not use a proxy server.
Again, as in K9, the restrictions are applied to all users who use the computer, including the person that sets the limits of time.

All three programs work on XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2003 / 2008.
